Home 5 Iraq 5 Iraq Update: May 2024

Our busy clinic in Hasan Sham U2 IDP camp east of Mosul continues to provide essential healthcare services here – we are the only emergency healthcare provider for over 10 000 people stranded in the 3 camps. This is a particularly complex community – many camp residents are unable to return to Mosul and reintegrate into Iraqi society. The camps have hundreds of resident children, single mothers and elderly who left Mosul during the war, who are still dependent on our services.

The dynamics of the camps will likely be changing over the next few months and there is a possibility that we will need to cover additional primary care services, but our team is committed to continuing helping this vulnerable community as long as we are needed here. Thank you for your support!
