In 2024, AdventRelief Ukraine continued its vital mission of delivering medical, dental, and psychological care to those most affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine. Operating under constant threat from missiles and drones, the organisation’s teams – comprised of both Ukrainian and international volunteers – provided life-saving services to internally displaced people, children in orphanages, seniors, and individuals with disabilities across Ukraine.
Key accomplishments include the launch of Ukraine’s first free dental clinic run by an international NGO, mobile medical and dental services in hard-to-reach areas, and psychological support initiatives for children facing trauma. Clinics in Donetsk, Mykolaiv, and Odesa oblasts treated thousands of patients, while mobile units brought essential care to shelters and orphanages. The organisation also played a vital role in training civilians and volunteers in first aid and trauma response, while distributing medical supplies to 20+ facilities and responding to gaps left by reduced international funding.
In the year to come, AdventRelief is expanding partnerships, joining the UNHCR Health Cluster and WHO networks, and planning broader deployment of mobile clinics to frontline and underserved areas. With limited funding – just over $113,000 in 2024, sourced entirely from private donors – the team was able to make a remarkable impact.
