It’s been an exciting week for our team in eastern Ukraine with the start of our first dental clinic operating in a small needy community that hosts many displaced persons from occupied areas of eastern Ukraine.
Dr Pavel (dental surgeon) and Dr Elena (paediatric dentist) are both from eastern Ukraine and operate the clinic. They are joined by Kristina and Inna – our dental assistants-in-training. They were able to treat many patients brought in from surrounding villages.
We hope to open a second clinic soon, as well as our program for international volunteer medics.
It’s been a long slow process setting up a medical operation in this region with many bureaucratic hurdles to cross. We thank Sharon our country director and the team on the ground for the many hours of work put in!
